Hailees Daily Dose

Sitting here this morning, I was gently reminded of all that we are fortunate enough to have. Our world is filled with such beautiful surroundings, wonder, and beautiful people. Each, taken for granted by our need to always be in a rush, we’re in such a hurry to live, that we don’t really live at all.

We’re always hurrying to hurry to get more done. I think that’s the reason I love my quiet moments so much. Every morning I sit and listen to the world wake up, one minute at a time, the sun slowly joining, lighting up the morning sky, with it’s soft hues of pinks and oranges turning into a magnificent deep, bright, sunrise. The wind softly blowing through the trees, the grass dancing and birds singing. There’s much to be seen and heard in the silence if we just watch and listen.

We forget to dance in the rain. Jump in mud puddles. Walk barefoot to through the grass. Sing in the car. Dance like nobody is watching. Ride the kids skateboards or a bike down hill with no hands. Driving on a long stretch of road, the windows down, wind blowing through your hair. (One of my all time favorites.)

So often, I allow myself to get hung up on this crazy roller coaster ride we call life, that I forget to open my eyes and see things around me. I forget about the small things. I get stuck in the negative, the stress of the moment and the chaos around me. It’s time to see things in color, not black and white.

Given our current situation, I hope to hear with my eyes, see inside my heart and feel with my mind. Another words, I hope that I can tune in and really focus on the good, beautiful things in this life. Enjoy life and live in the moment.

More Love. Less Hate. H
